""The Honeymooners Christmas Show"" (12/21/1951): It's Christmas Eve. Alice is decorating the tree and setting out holiday refreshments. Ralph comes home with potato salad, but Alice says it's the wrong potato salad. It came from DeVito's, which would have been the right place to go for lasagne, but the right potato salad would have come from Krauss'. Ralph can't believe that Alice is actually asking him to go out for different potato salad, and he's right. She's not asking him. She's telling him. He leaves. Episode 21 - Special: TV Land presents Love Letter
Release Date: 2004-10-16On September 23, 2004 the news broke that a newly discovered ""Honeymooners Lost Episode"" was unearthed in the vaults at the University of Georgia's Peabody Awards Archive. Archivist Margaret Compton discovered “Love Letter†(originally airing on Oct. 16, 1954, on “The Jackie Gleason Show,â€) during a preservation review of the archives kinescopes and video tapes.A re-make of “Love Letter†aired 2 years later, but the Peabody Awards archive heald the only known copy of the original sketch.This episode was probably submitted for Jackie Gleason, who did win the Peabody Award in 1955.When the University contacted Gleason Enterprises they were very excited to see that this kinescope existed and in such excellent condition. At the time Gleason Enterprises stated that they do intend to release this never-rebroadcasted episode through MPI Home Video.
