When the prospective teacher Sahra begins her traineeship at a high school shortly after the terrorist attack on September 11th, she has no idea that the recent events will forever mark a turning point for her as a young Muslim woman. The fact that the young high school graduate Mahmud does not take part in a minute's silence in her class not only has far-reaching consequences for Mahmud: Sahra also becomes the target of the teachers.
