Jam and Jerusalem (2006)
Jam and Jerusalem is a British sit-com that aired on BBC One from 2006 to 2009. Written by Jennifer Saunders and Abigail Wilson, it starred Sue Johnston, Jennifer Saunders, Pauline McLynn, Dawn French, Maggie Steed, David Mitchell, and Sally Phillips. Earlier episodes also starred Joanna Lumley and Doreen Mantle. On BBC America the first series was aired as Clatterford. The show centres on a Women's Guild in a fictional small West Country town called Clatterford St. Mary. It first aired on 24 November 2006. The second series began airing on 1 January 2008 with a 40-minute special and finished on 1 February 2008. The third series was filmed from April 2009. It consists of three one-hour specials, and began its broadcast on BBC One on 9 August 2009. In November 2009, on her blog, Pauline McLynn announced that Jam & Jerusalem would not be returning for a fourth series. She later stated that it was the decision of the BBC and not Jennifer Saunders.

Episode 1 - Sudden Death
Release Date: 2006-11-24Sal's husband dies and at the funeral her son James announces he is firing her from the family owned clinic. Sal joins the local Women's Guild to pass her time, as does Kate the bereavement councillor.

Episode 2 - Tea Room
Release Date: 2006-12-01When the Women's Guild decide they want a coffee room at the local church, they hold a "bring and buy" sale to pay for the health and safety standards.

Episode 3 - Beating the Bounds
Release Date: 2006-12-08When Sal and Tip discover that Eileen is adopted through the website "Genes Reunited", they give Eileen the phone number a blood relative. She is initially angry at the discovery, but this soon fades to happiness when she learns she has a brother.

Episode 4 - Problem Daughter
Release Date: 2006-12-15While Delilah gets her car stuck, Sal and Tash argue over Tash doing a circus skills cours. They later make up and at the surgery Tip cleverly comes up with a plan to get Sal her old job back.

Episode 5 - Holy Potato
Release Date: 2006-12-22Rosie, Eileen and Queenie help the Vicar prepare for the harvest festival, but all comes to a stand still when Rosie sees a potato with Jesus' face on it.

Episode 6 - Inspection
Release Date: 2006-12-26Eileen fears the Guild will be closed when she reads aloud a letter indicating an impending visit from Guild Inspector Lady Anne Crump. Meanwhile Rosie embarks on a celebrity diet and the rest of the Guild help Elijah, an old man who recently lost his wife.

Episode 7 - Christmas Panto
Release Date: 2006-12-30It is panto time. The chosen panto this year is Cinderella. Sal's daughter Tash usually plays the lead, but Eileen thinks she is too old. Sal manages to persuade her that if Michael (her husband) had been alive there would have been no question, and Tash gets the role. Finally the performance night arrives, but some cast think the best place to be is the pub, which means a slight alteration in the story! Sal decides it is time to scatter Michael's ashes, and enlists an unlikely helper, with unexpected results.
