So it's up to Martin to help Candy keep her sinuses in check for her debut on national television.

Episode 8 - The Candidates
Release Date: 1984-04-15Martin invites Rip over for dinner to meet his family. Candy doesn't want Martin to get involved in Rip's personal problems. But when Rip begins reminiscing of his past career in westerns, Martin does just that and suggests Rip make a comeback. Rip takes up Martin's advice and announces his plans to the staff -- where Martin is horrified to hear that Rip mortgaged the station to pay for financing. Worse, Rip lets them all know that it was Martin's idea! Rip holds a private screening to view one scene that's been shot -- which is embarrassingly awful. But Martin has to tell Rip the truth about his nonexistent acting ability or risk putting everybody's jobs in jeopardy.
