CHEUNG does not want to pay KELLY for the baby. AH thinks the same, too. KELLY’s brother is a gambler and is heavily in debt. He forces KELLY to get the money from CHEUNG. KELLY calls CHEUNG from the clinic, threatening to have the baby aborted if CHEUNG does not bring the money. CHEUNG goes to the clinic with AH. AH cannot bear the sight of KELLY’s arrogance. He suggests CHEUNG pay KELLY in installments. KELLY, though reluctant, has to accept their suggestion. CHEUNG takes KELLY home. She lies to her father that KELLY is HOWARD’s cousin. KELLY treats CHEUNG very badly. AH quarrels with KELLY a lot because of this. KELLY strolls around the village. She does not know that women are not allowed to enter the ancestral hall, and is asked to leave. CHEUNG comes to take her away in time. CHEUNG reminds KELLY that she has to respect the village customs. CHEUNG and KELLY meet YIN on the way home……
