Determined to pursue the Jerusalem cause alone, Saladin embarks on a new path. Meanwhile, Nusreddin, disillusioned after losing his secret, joins forces with Gregor and Victoria under Sinan's guidance, rebelling against Sultan Nureddin. Nusreddin declares himself sultan in Ascalan, dividing the Zengian state, and inciting tribes like Karategin to revolt against Nureddin, leaving the state in unprecedented peril.
