FU is about to rape YUET when YUNG and TSAN show up to her rescue. FU is locked up in a jail. A local official, LUK, as told be HUNG, bribes YUNG to release FU. YUNG takes he bribe on the condition that FU must plead guilty by making a sign in lieu of signature. FU is an illiterate; he does not know at all the piece of paper is in fact a confession of his killing of HAK. YUNG sentences FU to death o execute FU for his escaping from the jail. This way, YUNG hopes that TSAN would stop his investigation. In order to give SHUN a lesson and to squeeze him out of money, YEE lies to him that TSAN will take him his apprentice. As told by her servant, Uncle KAI, YEE comes to know the past of TAI, his wife and his daughter. She firmly believes that WONG TAI MA, who died when saving her life, was TAI’s wife.
