After conducting a postmortem on the bodies of the seven members of the Censor-in-chief CHOW WAI ON, he leads his men to the SZEMA’s residence to search for the suspect. A secret letter sent out by SHING turns FUNG’s raid into futility. Officials at the Censorate expose ON’s corruption. The emperor takes PO’s advice to confiscate ON’s booty but spare the lives of his surviving clan members. FUNG escorts WAI to the capital gate and leaves. Members of the Eight Gangs and Twelve Alliances follow hot on WAI’s heels. As soon as the case of ON’s murder closes, SHUN reveals SZEMA YEE’s whereabouts. PIK personally supervises the weaponry order of the Ministry of War. KWAN reveals to her that SZEMA YEE has returned to the capital and is very likely to represent the SZEMAs at the sword contest.
