Ramar of the Jungle (1953)
Ramar of the Jungle was a syndicated American television series that starred Jon Hall as Dr. Tom Reynolds and Ray Montgomery as his associate. Episodes were set in Africa and India. Produced by Rudolph Flothow for Arrow Productions and ITC Entertainment, four sets of 13 episodes were produced for a total of 52. Each episode runs approximately 25 minutes. In season one, the first 13 episodes are set in Africa and the second 13 are set in India. For the second season, all 26 episodes take place in Africa. Several television episodes were combined and released as theatrical movies by producer Leon Fromkess. Select episodes have been released on several DVDs through discount & "dollar" stores. Each disc contains approx. 4 episodes, with no extras available.

Episode 1 - Evil Trek
Release Date: 1953-04-18While researching a medical project. Dr. Reynolds and Prof. Ogden learn of an area ruled by a woman called The White Goddess, who uses a witch doctor's secret formula to remain young and rule over the local tribesmen.

Episode 2 - White Savages
Release Date: 1953-04-25Ramar hears about a rare substance that halts the effects of aging. The only problem is that it is in territory controlled by The White Goddess, where white men are forbidden to enter. Nevertheless, Ramar is determined to make contact with her, but discovers that he's not the only one--two dangerous escaped convicts are looking for her, too.

Episode 3 - Drums of the Jungle
Release Date: 1953-05-02An American trader can't convince the chief of a native tribe to exchange their ivory for gold. However, the village's corrupt witch doctor is more than happy to make the trade and, unknown to the chief, strikes a deal with the trader to steal the tribe's ivory in exchange for the gold. To cover his tracks, though, the witch doctor frames another tribesman for the crime--the chief's son, who happens to be a friend of Ramar's.

Episode 4 - The Doomed Safari
Release Date: 1953-05-09Jeff Sharpe, an old college friend of Dr. Reynolds, arrives in Africa in search of a rumored vast uranium deposit. Reynolds warns him that another scientist who had come seeking out the same deposit has vanished into thin air.

Release Date: 1953-05-16Trudy Van Dyne has been kidnapped by a wandering tribe, and her father asks Dr. Reynolds and Dr. Ogden to help find her. They eventually trace her to a village, but discover that the local witch doctor has placed her under a black magic spell.

Episode 10 - Danger in Disguise
Release Date: 1953-06-20Ramar and Prof. Ogden come across two botanists who have just, they claim, killed their native guide in self-defense. Believing their story, the men are offered lodging for the night at Ramar's camp. However, what Ramar and Ogden don't know is that the men aren't really botanists but narcotics traffickers in Africa looking for new supplies, and they are taking a great interest in Ramar's and Ogden's new--and unpatented--medicines.

Episode 11 - Mark of Shaitan
Release Date: 1953-06-27Prof. Ogden is attacked by a member of the sinister Shaitan devil-worshiping cult, and when he awakes he has the mark of Shaitan burned into his hand. The legend is that when the mark disappears the person will die, and as the symbol begins to fade away, Ogden gets sicker and sicker. Dr. Reynolds must race against time to unlock the secrets of the Shaitan cult before Ogden dies.

Episode 13 - The Blue Treasure
Release Date: 1953-07-11Dr. Reynold and Prof. Ogden are suddenly attacked by a tribe whose members are wearing a distinctive blue face paint, something neither of the men has ever seen before. The attackers are driven off, but Reynolds and Ogden manage to wound and capture one of the warriors. While the native recovers from his injuries, Tom, Howard and Charlie set out to discover what caused the unprovoked attack, and find out the meaning of the mysterious blue face paint.

Episode 14 - Mark of the Bola
Release Date: 1953-07-18A safari ends disastrously when all the native guides and their leader are mysteriously murdered. The only survivor is the leader's wife, and the superstitious natives believe she is a witch who caused the disaster, and demand her death. Dr. Reynolds protects her while trying to find out what really happened on the safari.

Episode 15 - Curse of the Devil Doll
Release Date: 1953-07-25Chief Matumbo sends for Dr. Reynolds to try to help an explorer who is dying from a mysterious illness. When the doctor arrives at the village, however, the natives try to kill him. It turns out that the dying man is holding a secret that someone is trying to make him tell using voodoo, and Reynolds must find out what that secret is in order to discover who is using the voodoo on him.

Release Date: 1953-08-01Ramar, Howard and Nancy Arlington find her father alive, but in the hands of the greedy Dexter, who believes that the inscription on a golden tablet he discovered is the key to a treasure of unimaginable wealth, and he will stop at nothing--including murder--to get the tablet translated.

Release Date: 1953-08-08Dr. Reynolds finds a woman dressed only in leopard skins who is held captive by her husband. The husband explains that during a full moon, the woman turns into a man-eating leopard. A suspicious Reynolds determines to find out the truth of the man's claims.

Episode 19 - The Flaming Mountain
Release Date: 1953-07-22While archaeologists are attempting to recover a golden tablet, they are captured by natives, who accuse them of breaking a sacred taboo. Reynolds and Ogden must find them and rescue them before their captors administer their own version of a "truth serum".

Episode 20 - White Man's Magic
Release Date: 1953-08-29Conway, a somewhat crazed ventriloquist, wanders into Ramar's camp after having been lost in the jungle. The natives, seeing Conway's dummy, believe it to be a god, steal it, and bring it to their village to worship on a shrine. When Conway risks his life to get the dummy back, Ramar begins to suspect that there's more to it than Conway's affection for his dummy, and thinks that the dummy may be filled with stolen radium.

Episode 21 - Voice of the Past
Release Date: 1953-09-05Dr. Reynolds treats a man whose wife has just died in an accident. When the natives begin hearing voices coming out of the darkness and see what they believe to be ghosts, they fear that the man's dead wife has come back to take vengeance for her death.

Release Date: 1953-09-12A mad scientist turns Prof. Ogden into a murderous zombie, and sends him on a mission to murder Dr. Reynolds.

Episode 23 - Savage Challenge
Release Date: 1953-09-19Willy takes Dr. Reynolds to Kangaland to meet his people, but when they get there they discover that a witch doctor has seized control during the chief's sickness. Reynolds gives the chief a shot of penicillin to cure his illness, but before it can take effect, the witch doctor captures Reynolds and prepares to burn him at the stake.
