To Paul's disgust, Larsen insures Paul's life for a substantial sum and hires an apprentice cartoonist, Emory Farnsworth, to assist Paul and learn to draw his strip so that he can cover for Paul if Paul ever is sidelined by injury. The eager Emory proceeds to drive Paul crazy because he thinks he has to do everything Paul does. Norman Fell, Jack Albertson, Joan Staley, Daniele De Metz, and Jane Wald guest-star.
