Devilman (1972)
Devilman features Akira Fudo, a shy and timid teenager who has gone mountain climbing in the Himalayas with his father. While in the middle of the expedition, both father and son are killed in a tragic accident. Akira's body is found and possessed by the demon soldier Devilman, who uses his new human form as a disguise in order to fulfill his mission of causing chaos on Earth in order to pave the way for a demonic invasion of the planet. Before his mission can begin in earnest, Devilman meets Akira's childhood friend Miki Makimura and quickly falls in love with her. Devilman resolves to protect Miki and humanity as a whole by battling against his fellow demons. Demon Tribe leader Zennon becomes greatly angered at Devilman's betrayal and is quick to send Devilman's former comrades to destroy him. The other demons soon learn that Miki is precious to Devilman and he must now work to protect her, as well as protect himself. Will the power of love be able to overcome that of true evil?

Release Date: 1972-08-12A new student, Himura Iwao, arrives at Nakado Academy and challenges Akira to a race. During which, they stumble upon a cave and discover a sleeping woman. The woman is actually Lita, who was a human sympathizer from the Demon Tribe.

Release Date: 1972-08-19Miki's father works to reconstruct the face of the skull of a young woman who died 200 years ago. Rokfel animates the skull and begins to wreak havoc in the city to lure out Devilman.

Release Date: 1972-09-30The mischievous demon Firem accompanies the behemoth Aguilar on his mission with Xannin. Devilman finally has a one-on-one match with Xannin.

Release Date: 1972-10-07Xenon dispatches Demon Mermaim to assist Xannin in his fight against Devilman. She does not care for Xannin, and puts a spell on him to prevent his interference. Mermaim moves in and attacks the Makimura family while they are on vacation. As Devilman does battle with Mermaim, Xannin discovers Miki.

Release Date: 1972-10-14Miki is rushed to the hospital after an altercation with Xannin. Furious, and heartbroken, Devilman swears to defeat the Demon Tribe once and for all. He flies to the Himalayas to settle things with Xenon, only to find the Tribe is gone. Himura appears and finally reveals his true identity.

Release Date: 1972-11-04Akira, Miki, Tare, and his friends come across a mysterious storyteller. The storyteller gives children stamps with monster designs on them. At night, the monsters come to life and attack.

Release Date: 1972-11-11A beautiful young woman named Mayako begins working at Cafe Chaco. Her alluring beauty has smitten all of the males in town. When young boys start killing themselves over Mayako, Akira wonders if there's more behind her allure.

Release Date: 1972-11-18Tare comes across a dumping ground with tons of mannequins. Later at night, he sees a mannequin in his room and attacks it with a hammer. It turns out the mannequin was Miki, who was killed by his attack. Distressed, Tare runs away from home.

Release Date: 1973-03-03Upset at the pain Devilman has caused the Demon Marshall, Alron dispatches to Japan to kill him. Meanwhile, Lala is frustrated with her own stupidity and tries to find a way to cure it. Akira mocks her, saying only death can fix that. Lala attempts to kill herself, ultimately throwing herself at battle with Alron.

Release Date: 1973-03-10Mourning the loss of Alron, Demon Marshall Lacock disobeys Xenon's orders and goes to confront Devilman. She uses her powers to slow down time in the city, leaving only Akira and Lala out of the trance. Together, they battle against Lacock.
