From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia. Douglas Geoffrey McGrath (born c. 1958) is an American screenwriter. He is also a film director and actor.McGrath was nominated for a both an Academy Award and a BAFTA award for his Bullets Over Broadway screenplay. He was twice nominated for a Writers Guild of America award:1997 for Emma 1995 for Bullets Over Broadway He also writes political commentary, such as "The Flapjack File", a column for The New Republic.A son of Beatrice and R. Searle McGrath, an independent oil producer from Midland, Texas, McGrath married Jane Read Martin in 1995; they have one son named Henry.
